Visakhapatnam Port Trust - 99 Trade Apprentice Recruitment 2013 Notification. The Vizag Port Trust (VPT) has issued notification for engaging as Trade Apprentice under Apprenticeship Act 1961 for Various Trades like Fitter, Welder, Mechanic, Electrician, Carpenter, AC Mechanic, Mechanist etc.. Total Posts are 99. Eligible candidates with ITI Certificate may apply before 30th Sep 2013.
PAYMENT OF STIPEND TO APPRENTICES:
a) During the first year of training : Rs. 1490/- per month. (as applicable)
b) During the second year of training : Rs 1700/- per month. (as applicable)
c) During the third year of training : Rs. 1970/- per month. (as applicable).

Applications are invited from the eligible candidates in the prescribed proforma for engaging as Trade Apprentices under Apprenticeship Act 1961 in the following designated trades in the Mechanical Electrical & Engineering Department, Visakhapatnam Port Trust.

Age: Should have completed minimum 14 (fourteen) years of age as on 31.08.2013. The applications now invited will be utilised for future training placements also, if necessary.
Mode and Criteria for Engagement of Apprentices:
Mode and Criteria for Engagement of Apprentices:
- a) Engagement of Trade Apprentices will be made purely on merit, on the basis of aggregate marks obtained by the candidate in ITI.
- b) Preference will be given to the children of VPT Employees: In the ratio of 4:1:1 i.e. 4 for VPT, 1 for CHD and 1 for Outsiders. Again out of the ratio of 4 for the children of port employees the sub-ratio of 2:1:1 will be followed to the children of deceased employees/medically invalidated & superannuated employees/serving employees respectively.
- c) Those who are short-listed basing on merit of marks secured in the qualifying exams will only be called for certificates verification.
- d) The trades will be allotted to the candidates at the discretion of the Head of the Department.
- a) The filled in applications in the prescribed proforma with latest passport size photo along with necessary certificates duly attested by a Gazetted Officer shall be submitted to the Chief Mechanical Engineer, Visakhapatnam Port Trust, Visakhapatnam-530 035 either by post or in person on or before 30.09.2013 by 4.30 p.m.
- b) Incomplete applications or applications submitted without attested copies of relevant certificates will not be considered.
- c) The SC/ST/OBC candidates should furnish the latest prescribed community certificate signed by the competent authority not below the rank of M.R.O.
