ACTIVITIES PLANNED UNDER INCLUSIVE EDUCATION FOR CWSN COMPONENT
DURING EDUCATION FORTNIGHT 2013
The Project Officers of RVM (SSA) are hereby informed that our endeavor is to provide academic and other supportive services to the identified CWSN through Inclusive Education, enabling them to pursue their educational ambition and contribute constructively in the development of the society. This academic year also
a number of activities are planned for success of Education Fortnight 2013. Activities to be implemented during Education Fortnight and on CwSN day (20 th June 2013)
I. Distribution of Universal Braille Kits to the visually challenged children of Class I and II in the state.
a) As per the DISE data, the DPO shall prepare the list of schools where Visually Challenged children are studying in I & II classes well in advance, at least a week before the distribution of Universal Braille kits.
b) Supply Braille-kits to all the schools through the Resource Teachers with an intimation to the HM to handover the Braille-kit to the child on 12 th of June on the occasion of “Saamoohika Aksharabhysa Karyakramam”. The Resource Teachers has to take the acknowledgement of the HM with office
seal. Resource Teacher shall also meet the parents of the visually challenged child and inform them to collect the Braille-kit on 12 th of June on the occasion of “Saamoohika Aksharabhysa Karyakramam”.
c) As per the lists of survey recently done by the Anganwadi Workers, prepare the list of visually challenged children who are not attending to schools (OSCwSN).
d) Resource Teacher shall meet the parent of such visually challenged child (OSCwSN) counsel and inform them to enroll the child in school and also to collect the Braille kit on 12 th of June on the occasion of “Saamoohika Aksharabhysa Karyakramam”. The Resource Teachers has to take the acknowledgement of the HM with office seal and submit to the Project Officer.
e) ALIMCO has been informed about the district wise requirement of UBK as per your DISE data and asked to supply the same well in advance. (a copy of Letter with district wise requirement of Universal Braille Kits is enclosed for your information).
f) Hon’ble Ministers, MLAs, MPs, ZP Chairman, Public Representatives, Higher Officials of the district, Communities and Philanthropists may be invited for the distribution.

a) As per the DISE data, the DPO has to prepare well in advance the list of schools where Visually Challenged children are studying in classes from I to VIII for distribution of ‘Braille text books’.

b) During the Education fortnight the DPO has to supply Braille text books to visually challenged children studying in class I , II , III, VI and VII of which text-books of classes I,II and III are already available in the districts and Braille-text books of classes VI and VII will be supplied shortly. Since the Braille-text books of classes IV, V, VIII are in the process of conversionin to Braille before for final take of printing, these books may be supplied immediately after they are received by your district. However, the DPOs
are advised to keep ready the lists of schools where children of IV, V, VIII classes studying these classes in order to supply Braille text books promptly on its receipt.

IV. Inauguration of IERC buildings
a) The DPO has to identify the IERC buildings of which the construction is recently completed and ready for inauguration. All such buildings may be inaugurated on 20 th June on the occasion of CwSN day during the
Education Fortnight by inviting community and the local public representatives.
V. 2nd Phase of “Chinnari Choopu” Eye screening program:
a) During Education Fortnight, the DPO has to depute the IERTs (MR IERTs of Special Training activity shall not be disturbed) to attend all schools along with the Eye screening-kit to conduct preliminary eye screening to all freshly enrolled children in the primary schools from 13th to 19th of June.
The IERTs have to complete the process in given Six days. The names of the children identified during this screening have to be entered simultaneously in the existing database through online at MRC.
b) The DPO has to prepare the list of children who have missed to attend the preliminary level eye screening held last time.
c) The dates for Secondary level screening at mandal level will be informed by the Health department shortly.
d) The DPO shall resume the process of eye-surgeries with the hospitals they had already identified.
VI. Camps to Assess Hearing loss and ear related problems in school age children. The Hon’ble Chief Minister of AP and Hon’ble Minister for Primary Education and SSA had announced during the ‘Chinnari Choopu’ launching program that all school age children will be screened and assessed the Hearing loss and ear related problems this year. The DPO shall prepare the list of children identified as Hearing Impaired and Speech Impaired during the survey recently conducted by RVM Involving the Anganwadi workers assessment and make necessary arrangements to organize the assessment camps from 20 th June 2013 onwards as per the guidelines which will be communicated to you in this regard.
VII. Mainstreaming of CwSN
a) The DPO has to identify the IERC buildings of which the construction is recently completed and ready for inauguration. All such buildings may be inaugurated on 20 th June on the occasion of CwSN day during the
Education Fortnight by inviting community and the local public representatives.

The DPO shall prepare the a list of CwSN who are going to be mainstreamed from Home Based Education and STCs after the schools are reopened during the education fortnight as per the guidelines given Proc.Rc.No.629/ RVM (SSA)/IE/C5/2011, dated: 25.04.2013.
The DPO Mobilize the recently operated out of school children with cleft lip/ cleft palate and eye related surgeries to enroll in the schools and (CL/CP) for speech therapy at IERC point. The DPOs shall see that these children are mainstreamed during Education Fortnight 2013.
VIII. Distribution of 1000 Digital Programmable Hearing Aid developed by C-DAC
Trivandrum and sponsored by ALIMCO to the hearing impaired children studying in schools of Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Medak, Mahabubnagar and Nalgonda district at Hyderabad. The DPO of the above mentioned districts are informed that the ALIMCO has come forward to supply 3000 Digital Programmable Hearing Aids /(Developed by C-DAC Trivandrum on pilot basis in these 5 district by 31 st July 2013 and study its efficiency).
In the first phase by 1 st June 2013 ALIMCO will supply 1000 hearing aids which will be distributed over the hands of the Honorable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on 12 th June on the occasion of “Samuhika Aksharabhyasa karyakramam” at Hyderabad.
a) The DPOs of the above five districts shall identify 600 children having Hearing Impairment and initially 200 children may be conducted audiometric tests for distribution of Digital hearing aids during the Education fortnight.
b) DPO have to prepare the List of such children. The IERTs have to be entrusted to identify Hearing Impaired children from the survey lists and mobilize them for fresh assessment by Audiologist in the districts and make necessary arrangements to organize the assessment camps as per the guidelines communicated to you in this regard.
c) The DPO Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts shall mobilize minimum 25 children each district for distribution of the Digital programmable Hearing Aids at Hyderabad by the Honorable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on 12 th June.
